Expungement

Expungement is the legal process through which an arrest or conviction is removed from an individual's criminal record, effectively sealing or erasing it from public view. Once expunged, the individual typically does not need to disclose the arrest or conviction in most situations, such as during employment background checks, and it is as though the event never occurred in the eyes of the law.
